Rural Connections

Our network stretches from up at Raukokore, down to Esk Valley

Getting Connected

We have a network of radio antenna sites up and down the East Coast. We put an antenna onto each customer's roof, and point it toward our nearest site in your area - These sites are usually on a hilltop somewhere between 1 - 15km away from you. This technology is used all throughout the world in hard to reach locations to provide high-speed internet in places that don't have fibre infrastructure. Businesses like us that provide this service are called 'WISPS' - Wireless Internet Service Providers.

Check we can service your address

If you live in a fairly populated area, or a very flat area, we should be able to service you. We have the largest wireless network in the East Coast - If your neighbours have a Gisborne Net connection, you should be able to get one too.

If you live deep in a valley, or in a very remote location, we may have to check if there is a radio antenna site that has line-of-sight to your property.

Schedule & confirm your install

Based on your location, and any other specific requirements you have, we'll give you an overall quote for your installation and monthly cost.

Once confirmed you'd like to go ahead, we will get an installer to get in touch with you.

They will contact you and setup a suitable time and date to install the antenna and Wifi router in your home.

Install your antenna

Our installer will attach a small antenna to your roof, and connect it to a Wifi router inside your home.

By the time the installer leaves, the internet will be up and running with us.

From there, we'll send you a monthly bill in the mail. Anytime you have questions or need a hand, our local Gisborne technicians are just a phone away.

What is 'Line-of-sight'?
Line of Sight

Good line of sight
If two different antenna can 'see' each other, and nothing is blocking their view, they have 'Line-of-site'. The antenna on your roof should be able to 'see' the antenna at our repeater site.

Line of Sight with Trees

Line of sight blocked by trees
Our antennas can't see through forests. They can see through light foliage though, so a few trees might be okay.

Line of Sight with Hills

Line of sight blocked by hills
Our antennas can't see through hills.
